Granite City home prices rise in the fourth quarter of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2017 in Granite City rose by $2,250 while total sales decreased by 35.5%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2017, there were 111 homes sold, with a median sale price of $60,000 - a 3.9% increase over the $57,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 172 homes sold in Granite City in the fourth quarter of 2016.

The median sales tax in Granite City for 2017 was $1,486.84. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,515.40. This marks an decrease of 1.9%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.5%.
