Madison (Madison County) home prices rise in the second half of 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2017 in Madison in Madison County rose by $3,500 while total sales increased by 33.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2017, there were 24 homes sold, with a median sale price of $25,500 - a 15.9% increase over the $22,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 18 homes sold in Madison in the second half of 2016.

The median sales tax in Madison for 2017 was $716. In 2016, the median sales tax was $710. This marks an increase of 0.8%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.8%.
