East St. Louis home prices fall in 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in 2017 in East St. Louis fell by $500 while total sales increased by 5.8%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through December of 2017, there were 91 homes sold, with a median sale price of $11,000 - a 4.3% decrease over the $11,500 median sale price for the previous year. There were 86 homes sold in East St. Louis in 2016.

The median sales tax in East St. Louis for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $543, approximately 4.9% of the median home sale price for 2017.
