Touchette Regional Hospital issued the following announcement on April 26.
Touchette Regional Hospital (TRH) is pleased to announce that four new medical specialists have joined its staff at 5900 Bond Avenue, Centreville, Ill. Moungar Cooper, MD; Nadeem Ahmed, MD; James Fernandez, MD; and Dan Thouvenot, DPM.
Dr. Cooper is a general surgeon and specializes in a variety of general surgical procedures. He attended and graduated from medical school at Howard University in the District of Columbia. He completed his first Residency at the West Virginia School of Medicine and his second Residency at Morehouse School of Medicine in Georgia.
Dr. Ahmed is a pulmonologist who specializes in a variety of health concerns and diseases of the respiratory system. He attended and graduated from medical school at Ross University. He completed Residencies at Duke University in North Carolina and at East Carolina University in North Carolina. His fellowship in pulmonary disease was at St. Louis University in Missouri.
Dr. Fernandez is a board-certified otolaryngologist and specializes in medical and surgical conditions of the head, neck, ears, nose, and throat. He attended and graduated from medical school at St. Louis University and completed his Residency at Wayne State University in Michigan.
Dr. Thouvenot is a podiatristspecializing in disorders of the foot and ankle. He attended Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his Residency at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Missouri. Dr. Thouvenot is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and American Podiatric Medical Association. His undergraduate degree is from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
