Granite City home prices rise in August 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in August 2017 in Granite City rose by $8,750 while total sales increased by 8.1%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In August 2017, there were 67 homes sold, with a median sale price of $64,000 - a 15.8% increase over the $55,250 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 62 homes sold in Granite City in August 2016.

The median sales tax in Granite City for 2017 was $1,487. In 2016, the median sales tax was $1,515. This marks an decrease of 1.9%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 2.3%.
