The data shows that 53 men and eight women were released in East Saint Louis. Of the parolees, two are veterans, and the median age is 36. The youngest parolee is a 20-year-old man sentenced for property crimes in 2015, and the oldest is a 71-year-old woman sentenced for homicide in 2016.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest is Kevin Green. He was convicted of homicide in 1988 when he was 38 years old. He is now 68.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
