Q4 2018 Recap: Parolees in East Saint Louis convicted of homicide

There were two offenders convicted of homicide released on parole in East Saint Louis during the fourth quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Metro East Sun.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in East Saint Louis were men. Of these parolees, one is a veteran. The younger parolee was a 48-year-old man sentenced in 1994. The other was a 48-year-old man sentenced in 1994.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Eric T. Jackson. He was convicted of homicide in 1994 when he was 23 years old. He is now 48.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q4 2018 who were convicted of homicide.
