Q4 2018 Recap: Parolees in East Saint Louis convicted of crimes against persons

There were 10 offenders convicted of crimes against persons released on parole in East Saint Louis during the fourth quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Metro East Sun.

The data shows that eight men and two women were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against persons was 35. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old woman sentenced in 2015, and the oldest was a 55-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Leila M. Martin. She was convicted of a crime against a person in 2015 when she was 20 years old. She is now 24.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q4 2018 who were convicted of crimes against persons.
