The data shows that nine men and one woman were released in the Fairview Heights zip code. The median age of the parolees was 42. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 74-year-old man convicted of a financial crime or fraud in 2016.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Lorenzo McCray. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2016, when he was 34 years old. He is now 37.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
