Q1 2019 Recap: Parolees in Madison County convicted of crimes against justice

There were three offenders convicted of crimes against justice released on parole in Madison County during the first quarter of 2019, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Metro East Sun.

The data shows that all of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against justice was 30. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced in 2018, and the oldest was a 41-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Erik L. Sedlacek. He was convicted in 2017 when he was 39 years old. He is now 41.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of crimes against justice were paroled during the first quarter of 2019 in each Illinois county.
