Illinois State House District 113 issued the following announcement on Aug.15.
Under the state’s first capital plan in nearly a decade,The Metro East will receive funds for many new projects to improve our community, including $20 million for reconstruction and bridge rehabilitations from the Mississippi River to I-64. Southern Illinois residents must have a safe and efficient way to travel, and re-building and improving our infrastructure under the multi-million dollar capital bill will ensure that they will no longer have to drive on crumbling roads and bridges.
