City of Alton Amphitheater Commission met June 17. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the commission:

Chairman Stephan called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M.

Present: Robert Stephan, Michelle Brooks, Ruth Birmingham, Dan Herkert, Karen Baker-Brncic

Absent: Brett Stawar, Jay Hollinger

Ex-Officio: Michael Haynes, Kirby Ontis

Motion made by Dan Herkert, seconded by Michelle Brooks, to approve the May 20, 2019 meeting minutes. Motion carried.

Motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report made by Dan Herkert, seconded by Robert Stephan. Motion carried.

Motion made by Karen Baker-Brncic, seconded by Ruth Birmingham, to have Poputopia/Rebecca Patton, provide popcorn and other treats, based on event, at a vendor cost of $300.00 per season. Motion carried.

Discussion was held regarding SSP Feed the Need event, scheduled for September 28, 2019. As they will have a $20.00 ticket this year, they are looking to avoid Metrotix fees. Metrotix has agreed to print tickets for SSP, at a cost of.20 per ticket, with a $50.00 set-up fee. Tickets will be sold at SSP and the CVB. Motion to charge a deposit of $1,500.00 made by Michelle Brooks, seconded by Dan Herkert. Deposit will cover amusement tax and any unexpected charges. Settlement with SSP after event.

Food vendor fees were established at a minimum of $250.00 per event for food trucks. Other vendors will start at $300.00 per season. Motion made by Karen Baker-Brncic, seconded by Ruth Birmingham. Motion carried.

Discussion was held regarding updated facility contracts.

Motion to approve Volunteer group donation schedule by Michelle Brooks, seconded by Ruth Birmingham. Motion carried.

Discussion held regarding upcoming Steve Miller Band concert, which has been moved to the Mall due to flooding.

Motion to adjourn by Karen Baker-Brncic, seconded by Michelle Brooks. Motion carried.

The next meeting will be held July15, 2019 at 4:30 PM in the lunchroom at City Hall.
