East St. Louis School District 189 recently issued the following announcement.
East St. Louis School District 189 invited students from each of its campuses grades 2nd through 8th to its first Celebration of Champions.
The program's intent was to celebrate champions of all disciplines from athleticism to academics. Students from the 2019 IHSA four Championship Teams; Varsity Basketball, Girls Track, Boys Track, and Varsity Football along with CTE student Standouts and the BETA Club President, shared words of wisdom on the characteristics of a champion.
They inspired the younger students to embrace the greatness that is inside of each of them by working hard, maintaining good grades, and displaying a positive attitude. Reminding them that it takes these characteristics to be a true champion!
