Smithton Community Consolidated School District 130 Buildings and Grounds Committee met Oct. 21.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

The Buildings and Grounds committee meeting of the Board of Education of Smithton Community Consolidated School District No. 130 was held in the Superintendent's Office, 316 South Hickory, Smithton, Illinois 62285.

Mrs. Etling, Clerk to the Board of Education, recorded minutes of the committee meeting.

Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Committee Chairman Mr. Trentman at 6:00 p.m. and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance.

Roll Call Members present: Ms. Pipher, Mrs. Sutherland, Dr. Schwemmer, Mr. Trentman, Mr. Barschak. Mr. Whitworth arrived at 6:01p.m. and Mr. Lester arrived at 6:06p.m. Members absent: None.

Dr. Wamser, Superintendent, was also in attendance.

Public Comments None

Discussion Mr Trentman discussed the latest building plans and handed out preliminary drawings to all those in attendance. Mr. Trentman solicited input from everyone in regards to the design materials and color selection. Discussion

included an updated construction cost estimate for the base price including contingency. Mr. Trentman also presented eight (8) alternative bids in addition to the base bid. These alternatives were discussed however the committee did not make any decisions regarding the alternatives since estimated costs were not available at this time. Bids are expected to be put out to Public November 6, 2019 with a Pre-Bid meeting scheduled for November 14, 2019 and all bids due December 06, 2019.

Adjournment A motion to adjourn at 7:02 p.m. was made by Mr. Barschak and seconded by Ms. Pipher. All Ayes, motion passes.
