East St. Louis home prices fall in the second half of 2019

The median sale price of a home sold in the second half of 2019 in East St. Louis fell by $4,415 while total sales increased by 4.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From July through December of 2019, there were 49 homes sold, with a median sale price of $10,000 - a 30.6% decrease over the $14,415 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 47 homes sold in East St. Louis in the second half of 2018.

The median sales tax in East St. Louis for the most recent year with available data, 2018, was $568, approximately 5.7% of the median home sale price for the second half of 2019.
