Q2 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in zip code 62206?

There were nine offenders released on parole during the second quarter that live near Illinois zip code 62206, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Metro East Sun.

The data shows that eight men and one woman were released in East Saint Louis zip code. The median age of the parolees was 37. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man convicted of a property crime in 2019, and the oldest was a 21-year-old man convicted of homicide in 1976.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Ernie Slaughter. He was convicted of homicide in 1976, when he was 21 years old. He is now 65.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
