City of Alton Municipal Band Board met Jan. 15.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

David Drillinger called the board meeting of the Alton Municipal Band to order at 6:30pm, in the Ringhausen Music Building at LCCC.

Members Present: Larry Ashlock, Melissa Bock, David Drillinger, Anne Lovelace, Kasey Oglesby

Members Absent: Debbie Kelley, Julie McPike

Guest: Martha Roberts

Minutes

1. Melissa Bock motioned to accept the minutes from the December 11, 2019 meeting.

Kasey Oglesby seconded. 5 yays, 0 nays. Motion passed.

Treasurer’s Report

1. Kasey Oglesby motioned to approve banners. Anne Lovelace seconded. 5 yays, 0 nays.

Motion passed.

2. Kasey Oglesby motioned to approve 12th Night Music. Larry Ashlock seconded. 5 yays, 0 nays. Motion passed.

3. Chautauqua sent deposit for July 2020 concert.

Informational Items

1. Restaurant Week (January 17-25, 2020), Alton Municipal Band 130th season cups will be available at the Alton Visitor’s Center.

2. Sydney Reynolds submitted letter of resignation from the board. David Drillinger motioned to accept her resignation. Anne Lovelace seconded. 5 yays, 0 nays. Motion passed.

Discussion Items

1. Discussed opportunity to play at Alton Amphitheater for 4th of July celebration/firework display. Larry Ashlock spoke with the amphitheater commissioner, who expressed interest in the idea. Kasey Oglesby working on sending out e-mail to members asking about availability.

2. Refrain from referring to ourselves as a “community band”, as we are an auditioned, paid municipal band.

Kasey Oglesby motioned to adjourn the meeting at 7:30pm. Anne Lovelace seconded. 5 yays, 0 nays. Motion passed.
