Discussion:
A Donation button now exists on the band’s page on the city website for donations. However, the city is putting that money in the general fund. That is incorrect: It should be put in the special fund. Melissa will ask for a meeting for clarification. Julie and David will try to accompany Melissa to that meeting.
Melissa will be submitting the budget soon
Julie and David will try to accompany Melissa to that meeting
Julie suggests we ask for an additional $5000
$2500 for Christmas, $2500 for Amphitheater
Discussion was made regarding the Amphitheater performance. David pointed out several significant issues with attempting to add this performance with so many question marks regarding band personnel. Larry will attempt to contact those band members who did not respond to the questionnaire before the next Board Meeting so we have a better idea of the needs of the band.
Board
Several Board positions have been left open. The following persons have indicated their willingness to serve:
Mike, Linda Ferguson
Julie moved to accept both as full members, David seconded 4 Yea 0 Nay Passed
Board & Officers
Julie indicated August is when Board member terms end. David and Debbie’s terms will end this year. They will need to decide if they wish to remain on the Board. A Slate of Officers also needs to be presented to the City at that time. Members are urged to begin thinking now about remaining an officer, stepping down, or if they wish to become an officer.
The Band is still in need of a Sound Person
Martha has three cases of Restaurant Week glasses. David will check into storing them in the locked storage room at LCCC. They will be distributed to band members at the 1st June rehearsal.
Julie will begin mailing Open Rehearsal Flyers to schools now
For the Memorial Day Parade: a truck is needed. Linda will look into this
Martha would like to invite alumni to the June 21 concert for special recognition. She will use email and social media.
Jeff Paris has asked about doing some of the announcing. It was suggested he could do the alumni recognition announcements
