Dupo Volunteer Fire Department responded to 55 calls in 2018 - 89.7 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Dupo included 40 fires - 23 structure fires, 10 vehicle fires and seven other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $106,000 in fire loss - or about $2,650 per fire.

The department also received 13 false calls.

The Dupo Volunteer Fire Department had an annual budget of $474,294 in 2018.
