Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Jersey County?

There were 11 offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in Jersey County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Metro East Sun.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Jersey County were men. The median age of the parolees was 36. The youngest parolee was a 24-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2019, and the oldest was a 51-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Alan K. Simpson. He was convicted of a crime against a person in 2017 when he was 34 years old. He is now 37.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2020 in each Jersey County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
