Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in St. Clair County?

There were 99 offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in St. Clair County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Metro East Sun.

The data shows that 89 men and 10 women were released in St. Clair County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 37. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2019, and the oldest was a 64-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Darryl Joe. He was convicted of homicide in 1988 when he was 17 years old. He is now 49.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2020 in each St. Clair County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
