City of Granite City City Council met Nov. 17.

Mayor Ed Hagnauer called the City Council Meeting to Order at 7:04 p.m.
ATTENDANCE ROLL CALL: McDowell, Schmidtke, Jackstadt, Williams, Elliott, Mathes, Eavenson, Koberna, Deputy Clerk Gracey, and Mayor Hagnauer were Present. Alderman Pickerell, Davis and Clerk Whitaker were Absent.
MOTION By Eavenson, second by Koberna to approve the City Council Minutes from November 2, 2020. ALL VOTE YES. Motion Carried.
MOTION By Elliott, second by Eavenson to allow James W. Foley to address the City Council for three minutes. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.
MOTION By McDowell, second by Elliott to place on file the Plan Commission Minutes from November 5, 2020. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.
MOTION By Jackstadt, second by Eavenson to award the bids for Public Works surplus as submitted to the highest bidder.

MOTION By Jackstadt, second by Mathes to Suspend the Rule and Place on Final Passage an Ordinance to purchase one Truck equipped to Plow Snow.

MOTION By Jackstadt, second by Eavenson to Suspend the Rule and Place on Final Passage an Ordinance repealing Ordinance 7962, and removing its designation of a handicap parking space at 2301 Edison Avenue.

MOTION By Mathes, second by Jackstadt to place on file the ORI report for October 2020. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.
MOTION By Schmidtke, second by Koberna to place on the Fire Department Report and the EMS Report for October 2020. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.
MOTION By Schmidtke, second by Koberna to place on file the retirement letter for Larry LeMaster. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.
MOTION By Schmidtke, second by Koberna to place of file the Promotion letter from Chief Martinez; due to the retirement of Shift Commander Larry J. LeMaster, effective November 4, 2020 and to approve the following person shall be promoted as follows;
• Captain John E. Koskie to the rank of Shift Commander
• Engineer Justin d. Kirk to the rank of Captain
• Fire fighter/paramedic Timothy M. Leverich to the rank of Engineer

MOTION By Elliott, second by Jackstadt to place on file the Economic & Development Committee Meeting Minutes from November 2, 2020. ALL VOTED YES. Motion Carried.
MOTION By Elliott, second by McDowell to place on file the Planning & Zoning Committee Meeting Minutes from November 2, 2020 and the Closed Planning & Zoning Committee Meeting Minutes stay Closed for Six Months. ALL VOTED YES Motion Carried.
MOTION By Jackstadt, second by Koberna to approve a Resolution to authorize the Hire of Three Fire Fighters.
