State Sen. Jason Plummer (R-Edwardsville) is committed to staying connected with the residents of his 54th District.
As part of their ongoing Regional Listening Tour, Plummer is slated to join fellow Republican state Sens. Terri Bryant (R-Murphysboro) and Dale Fowler (R-Harrisburg) on Oct. 7 at Anna-Jonesboro Community High.
The group is heralding the 6 p.m. gathering as an opportunity for downstate residents to raise their voices on the issues most critical to them and their communities.
"Mark your calendars,” Bryant posted on Facebook. “Together, Senator Fowler, Senator Plummer and I represent over two dozen of Southern Illinois’ counties. We have such unique, diverse communities and represent residents who have different needs and perspectives. They all deserve to have a voice in their state government.”
Bryant adds the group deciding to come together for such a cause was an easy decision.
“I wanted to host this event so that the collective voices of Southern Illinois could be heard by their lawmakers and to help us as legislators better represent the interest of Southern Illinois in the Senate," she added.
First elected in 2018, Plummer serves as the minority spokesperson on Executive Appointments and Senate Financial Institutions committees. His current term runs through early 2023.
