Report: Smithton School District spent $8,363 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Smithton Community Consolidated School District 130 was up 7.2 percent from five years ago, according to the Metro East Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Saint Clair County school district spent $7,799 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $8,363 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 518 to 555 students over the same period.

Smithton's spending in 2019-20 was 42.3 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
