Report: Belleville School District spent $13,974 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Belleville Township High School District 201 was up 19.2 percent from five years ago, according to the Metro East Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Saint Clair County school district spent $11,725 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $13,974 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 4,822 to 4,676 students over the same period.

Belleville's spending in 2019-20 was 3.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
