Report: High Mount School District spent $11,684 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at High Mount School District 116 was up 36.2 percent from five years ago, according to the Metro East Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Saint Clair County school district spent $8,580 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $11,684 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 479 to 375 students over the same period.

High Mount's spending in 2019-20 was 19.4 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
