Analysis: O'Fallon administrators rank 185th in state for average pay

Administrators in O'Fallon Township High School District 203 earn an average of $118,826 per year, ranking 185th out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a Metro East Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2020 average is 4.3 percent higher than in 2016 and 0.6 percent lower than in 2011. District administrators make 6.8 percent more than the state average of $111,293.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The O'Fallon School District in Saint Clair County enrolled 2470 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 199 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
