State Rep. Charlie Meier (R-Highland) shared information regarding his attendance at the "Blessing of the Hunters" event in a Facebook post published on Monday.
"I was honored to take part in the 'Blessing of the Hunters' at Whispering Pines in Clinton County," Meier wrote. "It was a chilly snowy day, but so beautiful to be out in nature."
Whispering Pines' "Blessing of the Hunters" prayer service was held at noon on Nov. 13, with Jim Kues leading the introduction. The Camp Briefing was given by Whispering Pines of Clinton County President Carl Becker. John Burke, representing the Jared Burke foundation, also gave a statement, and the prayer service and blessing were led by Deacon Glen Netemer. Hot dogs and chili were served after the prayer service.
Meier published another Facebook post on Monday regarding his attendance at the Clinton County Republican Meeting.
"I was able to stop in at the Clinton County Republican Meeting this month," Meier wrote. "It was good to see everyone."
Meier, a Republican, was first elected to the Illinois House of Representatives in 2013. His legislative experience includes serving on the Agriculture & Conservation Committee, as well as the International Trade & Commerce Committee. He resides in Okawville.
