Q3 2021 Recap: 2 parolees from St. Clair County convicted of homicide set for release

There were two offenders convicted of homicide living in St. Clair County released on parole during the third quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Metro East Sun.

The data shows both of the released offenders among the parolees were men. The median age of the parolees sentenced for homicide was 57. The younger parolee was a 38-year-old man sentenced in 2011, and the oldest was a 75-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Claude Williams. He was convicted in 2011 when he was 26 years old. He is now 38.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The following table shows how many offenders convicted of homicide were paroled during the third quarter of 2021 in each Illinois county.
