Q4 2021 Recap: 2 parolees from St. Clair County convicted of crimes against justice set for release

There were two offenders convicted of crimes against justice living in St. Clair County released on parole during the fourth quarter of 2021, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Metro East Sun.

The data shows a man and a woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against justice was 41. The younger parolee was a 30-year-old man sentenced in 2021, and the oldest was a 51-year-old woman sentenced in 2021.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Dondre T. Lewis. He was convicted in 2021 when he was 28 years old. He is now 30.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
