City of Jerseyville City Council met Dec. 27.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Mayor Kevin Stork called the regular session of the Jerseyville City Council to order Tuesday, December 27TH at City Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.

ROLL CALL

Present were Commissioners Anthony Steckel, Steve Pohlman, Zachary Crawford, John Miles, and Mayor Stork. City Attorney William Strang was present. City Clerk Denise Hayes took minutes.

Comm. Pohlman led the opening prayer and pledge of allegiance was recited.

MINUTES

A motion was made by Comm. Pohlman, seconded by Comm. Steckel, to approve the minutes from the regular meeting held Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Roll call vote showed all voted aye, no nays, motion carried.

BILLS

A motion was made by Comm. Steckel, seconded by Comm. Crawford, to approve the bills as presented for December 27, 2023, in the amount of $284,697.25. Roll call vote showed all voted aye, no nays, motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS

A. A motion was made by Comm. Crawford, seconded by Comm. Steckel, to approve an intergovernmental agreement between the City of Jerseyville, City of Grafton, and Jersey County for shared usage of the Jerseyville Animal Control facility. Roll call vote showed all voted aye, no nays, motion carried.

B. A motion was made by Comm. Steckel, seconded by Comm. Miles to approve the Director of Tourism to attend the Annual Rural Community Economic Development Conference being held in Springfield, Illinois on February 28th and 29th. Roll call vote showed all voted aye, no nays, motion carried.

C. A motion was made by Comm. Crawford, seconded by Comm. Miles to approve the $250,000.00 grant agreement between the American Water Charitable Foundation and the City for splash pad features, controllers, and equipment as related to the Lions Club Park Improvements phase 2 project and also authorized the Mayor, City Clerk, and Director of Public Works to sign grant paperwork. Roll call vote showed all voted aye, no nays, motion carried.

OTHER BUSINESS: Mayor Stork announced beginning the first meeting in January 2024 and until further notice, City Council meetings will be held at the Feyerabend building located at 209 East Spruce St due to City Hall renovations. Temporary offices to conduct city business are still open to the public during normal office hours at City Hall in the Council chambers with entrance located at 115B East Prairie St. Registration is now open for the Parks and Recreation Daddy/Daughter dance for ages 3-12 to be held at the Susnig Complex February 16th, 17th, and 18th with deadline to register on February 3rd.

PUBLIC COMMENT: None.

ADJOURNMENT: Being no other business to be discussed, a motion was made by Comm. Steckel, seconded by Comm. Pohlman, to adjourn the meeting at 6:10 p.m. Roll call vote showed all voted aye, no nays, motion carried.
