State Rep. Kevin Schmidt is calling on residents to nominate a deserving individual for the State Fair Museum Foundation’s Illinoisan of the Day program. The foundation aims to spotlight ten individuals each day of the Illinois State Fair.

The Illinoisan of the Day program seeks to honor individuals who exemplify qualities such as integrity, dependability, a sense of community, and strong ethics. Nominees should be involved in service activities, educational projects, or youth programs and have an affiliation with state or county fairs in Illinois. Additionally, nominees must demonstrate their Illinois spirit through ongoing volunteerism and community service.

Winners will receive honors during their special day at this year’s Illinois State Fair, which runs from August 8 to 18. Nomination forms are available on the museum foundation's website at www.illinoisstatefairmuseum.org, with a submission deadline of July 20.
