Residents of Nashville, IL have been urged to evacuate due to the imminent failure of a local dam. Authorities are working closely with various agencies to manage the situation.

"I have been in constant communication with the Governor’s Office, IEMA, Washington County Emergency Management Agency, and Illinois State Police regarding this issue," an official statement said. Given the radar forecasts and potential for more rain in the area, residents are advised to evacuate safely.

Officials warn against driving or walking through standing water and encourage those needing assistance to contact emergency services. The American Red Cross has established a shelter at 680 W. Walnut St., Nashville, IL for those in need.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
