Illinois State Representative Amy Elik has reiterated the need for property tax relief, citing the financial strain on residents.

“High property tax rates are crushing Illinois families and making our state an unaffordable and unattractive place to live,” said Elik. “Our residents need relief now so they can stay and grow here at home. Illinois should reduce our tax burden and create a better climate for individuals and businesses.”

Currently, Illinoisans pay the second-highest property taxes in the country, with the typical resident paying over $700 more than just five years ago.
