State Representative Charlie Meier (R-Okawville) has been recognized for maintaining a perfect voting record with the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) and the Illinois Chamber of Commerce. These scores were based on bills presented to the Illinois General Assembly during 2023-24.
“I’m honored to be recognized for my pro-business voting record and my commitment to supporting mom-and-pop shops across Illinois,” said Meier. “I’m a farmer, I know that this economy is not working for most of us. Now, more than ever, we need to pass legislation that will alleviate the burden on small businesses. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, it’s time we treat them like it. In Springfield, I’ll keep fighting back against the bad legislation that is crushing business.”
The Illinois Chamber of Commerce awarded Rep. Meier their “Champion of Free Enterprise” award due to his consistent pro-business voting record. This marks the third consecutive time he has received this award over the past six years. Meier is one of only two Illinois Representatives to achieve this distinction.
The NFIB monitors legislative issues identified by its small business members each session and assigns scores to lawmakers accordingly. Rep. Meier was acknowledged in their report with a 100% voting record.
