State Representative Kevin Schmidt participated in the 2024 Fall Gathering of the Youth Mental Health & Wellness Coalition of St. Clair County. The event included a panel where legislators listened to youth, service providers, and mental health advocates discuss the impact of policy on their lives. Schmidt engaged with participants by asking questions to understand their expectations from Springfield.

Schmidt also emphasized his efforts in addressing substance abuse and securing full funding for mental health resources. He remarked, “It was a great opportunity to talk to youth about what they go through every day.”
