A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Venice City Council regarding specific details about its council members on October 15, 2024. The request was made by Metro East Sun, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
In the request, we sought information about each council member under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140. Specifically, we asked for a list of all council members with the following fields: Name, Title, Year Appointed, Term (2 or 4 years), and Term Expire Date.
