The request, dated October 15, 2024, seeks detailed information about all council members.
The specific details requested include each council member's name, title, year of appointment, term length (2 or 4 years), and term expiration date. This information is crucial for us to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public.
We believe that access to such public records is essential for fulfilling our professional responsibilities as a media organization. Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we have also requested a fee waiver as media professionals under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.
