City of Fairview Heights City Council met Oct. 15

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The regular meeting of the Fairview Heights City Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Mark T. Kupsky in the City Council Chambers, 10025 Bunkum Road, Fairview Heights, IL and also conducted virtually for guest attendees and City Council members per Resolution 4391-2021 with the Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation by City Clerk Karen Kaufhold.

ROLL CALL

Roll call of Aldermen present: Aldermen Frank Menn, Josh Frawley, Barbara Brumfield, Brenda Wagner, Pat Peck, Anthony LeFlore, Ryan Vickers, Bill Poletti, and Denise Williams. Alderman Harry Zimmerman was absent - excused. City Clerk Karen Kaufhold and Attorney Andrew Hoerner were present.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

None

CONSENT AGENDA

Alderman Pat Peck moved to approve the October 1st, 2024 City Council minutes and the Finance Director’s Report and bills and invoices presented for payment in the amount of $2,093,080.19.

Seconded by Alderman Denise Williams.

Roll call on the October 1st, 2024 City Council minutes and the Finance Director’s Report and bills and invoices presented for payment in the amount of $2,093,080.19 showed Aldermen Menn, Frawley, Brumfield, Wagner, Peck, LeFlore, Vickers, Poletti, and Williams voting “Yea”. Alderman Harry Zimmerman was absent. Motion passed with 9 yeas and 1 absent.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

The Mayor announced that the Community Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 at 7:00 P.M.

COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE MAYOR

Mayor Mark announced that The REC will be hosting its annual Trunk or Treat. Mayor wanted to wish a Happy Birthday to our City Clerk, Karen Kaufhold and the Mayor’s Administrative Assistant Kathy Frawley. Mayor Mark stated October 14th, was Marion Peters Day Proclamation, he turned 102 years old, and moved to Fairview Heights in 1945. The Mall will be celebrating it’s 50th year anniversary this November 2024. Mayor announced the Holiday campaign for the city, Santa for Seniors Program, and Gifts for Special Needs in resident homes.

NEW BUSINESS

Proposed Resolution No. 58-’24 a Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Risk Management for the purchase of Liability & Workmen’s Compensation Insurance for the City of Fairview Heights Effective January 1, 2025 through January 1, 2026. Motion by Alderman Poletti. Seconded by Alderman Wagner.

Roll call on the Proposed Resolution No. 58-’24 showed Aldermen Menn, Frawley, Brumfield, Wagner, Peck, LeFlore, Vickers, Poletti, and Williams voting “Yea”. Aldermen Zimmerman was absent. Motion passed with 9 yeas and 1 absent.

Proposed Resolution No. 58-’24 passed on 9 yeas and 1 absent.

Proposed Resolution No. 58-’24 now becomes RESOLUTION NO. 4592-2024

Alderman Poletti moved to adjourn. Seconded by Alderman Poletti. Motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 7:20 P.M.
