When Illinois lawmakers return to Springfield on January 4, 2025, they will begin a "lame duck" session. Representative Schmidt has expressed opposition to this session, stating that "some of the worst bills passed by Democrats have come through during lame duck and we expect much of the same this time around." Schmidt believes that Illinois residents deserve better legislation.
The representative stands with House Republican colleagues in opposing the session. They urge citizens to "say NO to Lame Duck Democrats."
