State Representative Kevin Schmidt, representing Millstadt, has announced the commencement of a program titled "Valentines for Veterans" at his district office in Cahokia Heights. The initiative invites students and residents to create valentine cards expressing gratitude and well-wishes to veterans who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Rep. Schmidt stated, "I launched the ‘Valentines for Veterans’ program to become a bright spot for our veterans this February. My hope is these valentines will bring a smile to the face of veterans who have served our nation by showing them our love and appreciation."

Individuals of all ages are encouraged to participate by crafting valentine cards or drawings. These should be delivered either by mail or in person to Rep. Schmidt’s office, located at 4041 Mississippi Avenue in Cahokia Heights. The collected cards will be distributed to veterans residing in long-term care facilities within the 114th District before Valentine's Day.
