Rural firefighters often serve as the primary responders in emergencies involving individuals trapped in grain bins. Many of these fire departments, however, do not have the necessary equipment or specialized training for effective grain bin rescues.

To address this issue, Nationwide has partnered with several organizations, including the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety (NECAS) and KC Supply. Together, they aim to provide emergency first responders with grain rescue tubes and practical rescue training. This initiative is part of Grain Bin Safety Week.

The annual contest to award these life-saving tools is currently open and will run until April 30th, 2025. Those interested can learn more about the contest and submit their nominations through an online form.
