City of O'Fallon Library Board met Feb. 10

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The meeting took place at the O’Fallon Public Library in O’Fallon, IL.

President Suzanne Rupright called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Roll Call: Suzanne Rupright; present, Linda Mitchell; present, Doug Distler; present, Charla Morton; present, Larry Morrison; present, Liz Jennings; present, Vern Hamm; present, May Brown; present. Beth Rowling was excused. Also attending were student trustees Sadeem and Sadeel Alzadi.

Guest Presentation: Representative Heather Wolfe from Creative Entourage presented the board members with an example of a mailer that would be sent out to over 12,000 O’Fallon registered voters. A QR code on the mailer will link to a survey A motion was made by L. Jennings and seconded by V. Hamm to move forward with the mailer in lieu of any edits that are due in one week. All ayes. Motion carried.

Consent Agenda: A motion was made by L. Jennings and seconded by C. Morton to accept the consent agenda. All ayes. Motion carried.

January Bills: A motion was made by D. Distler and seconded by S. Rupright to approve the presented bills for payment. Roll call: S. Rupright; aye, L. Mitchell; aye, C. Morton; aye, D. Distler; aye, L. Jennings; aye, L. Morrison; aye, V. Hamm; aye, M. Brown; aye. All ayes. Motion carried.

Public Comment: None

New Business: A motion was made by C. Morton and seconded by L. Mitchell to select Bernardi Securities as the bonding agency to help fund a new library. A motion was made by L. Mitchell and seconded by V. Hamm to change the board meeting time from 7:00pm to 6:00pm. and will begin with the March 10th, 2025 board meeting. 6 ayes, 1 no, 1 abstained. Motion carried.
