Rep. Mike Bost, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 12th district, has recently shared updates on several local issues through his social media platform. His posts have highlighted community concerns regarding environmental and agricultural developments in Southern Illinois.

On March 20, 2025, Rep. Bost addressed the decision to drain Little Grassy Lake, which has become a significant issue for local boaters, fishermen, and recreationalists. He stated that he has been in "constant contact with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service officials" and requested a tour of the Crab Orchard "https://t.co/7Axoroq5pH".

Following his tour on March 21, 2025, Rep. Bost met with local residents at John A. Logan College to provide an update on the lake's status. He noted that "a third of the lake has been drained for repairs" "https://t.co/jJi7GH7k0R".

Later that day, Rep. Bost continued his engagements across rural Southern Illinois with a visit to New Athens. He hosted a “Solar Sit Down” meeting with farmers and landowners concerned about solar companies using prime farmland for large solar panel installations. He expressed awareness of these companies' practices of clearing trees "https://t.co/tAHtyDSbMB".
