In a series of recent tweets, U.S. Congressman Mike Bost, who represents Illinois' 12th District, highlighted his ongoing engagements and legislative priorities. Since assuming office in 2015 after replacing Congressman Gerald Hawkins, Bost has focused on supporting local agriculture, ensuring tax relief, and addressing foreign influences in academia.

On March 26, 2025, Bost tweeted about a meeting with Illinois Farm Bureau members John Yeley and Jenny Bierman. He discussed the next Farm Bill, trade, and ensuring supportive measures for farmers. He expressed his gratitude towards the members, stating, "I had a great meeting with Illinois Farm Bureau members John Yeley and Jenny Bierman from Clark and Jasper counties to discuss the next Farm Bill, trade, and ensuring our farmers have the support they need to feed and fuel our nation. Appreciate all they do!".

On March 27, 2025, Bost used Twitter to talk about his discussion with Gateway FS Vice President Jack McCormick regarding tax relief. He mentioned the impact of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act on local economic growth, stating, "I met with Gateway FS Vice President Jack McCormick from Ellis Grove to discuss the need for permanent tax relief for small businesses and family farms. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act provided critical tax cuts that have helped our local economy grow; without action, these provisions".

Bost also expressed concerns over foreign investments in education on the same day, March 27, 2025, emphasizing the influence of the Chinese Communist Party in American universities and his support for legislation to address this issue. He stated, "Foreign adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party are pouring billions of dollars into American universities to influence students, research, and national policy - often in secret. Many schools ignore the law and hide these foreign gifts. That’s why I voted for the DETERRENT".
