Rep. Mike Bost, a U.S. Congress member from Illinois’ 12th District since 2015 and a former member of both the Illinois House of Representatives and the Jackson County Board, shared updates on April 10, 2025, about his recent legislative activities on social media.

In his first tweet, Bost recounted the vote he cast for the SAVE Act, which "require[s] proof of citizenship when registering to vote." He emphasized the necessity of protecting electoral integrity by ensuring that "only AMERICAN citizens should determine AMERICAN elections."

Later that day, Bost provided another update on legislative progress by announcing that the House had made significant strides towards implementing President Trump’s America First agenda. The House had "voted to align the House and Senate blueprints for budget reconciliation," a crucial action to facilitate the eventual signing of a final bill into law. In Bost's words, "Now Congress can begin its work on."

Mike Bost, born in Murphysboro, Illinois, in 1960, has been actively serving residents of the 12th District while residing in his hometown of Murphysboro, Illinois. His educational background includes graduating from the University of Illinois' Certified Firefighter II Academy in 1993.
