Secretary of State and State Librarian Alexi Giannoulias has announced the allocation of more than $1.3 million in grants to 2,484 public school libraries across Illinois. These funds are intended to aid school libraries serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

The resources and services supported by the grants include library books, e-books, audiobooks, periodicals, multilingual materials, technology, and programs. These grants are distributed every spring as part of the fiscal year's allocations.

Libraries in the 114th District are among the beneficiaries set to receive funding through this program.

"These grants are a vital resource in helping our school libraries enhance and expand their offerings," Giannoulias stated.
