Rep. Mike Bost, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois' 12th district since 2015, shared a series of updates on recent legislative and tragic events via social media on May 22, 2025.

In a tweet posted at 1:04 PM UTC, Rep. Bost announced that "the People’s House has passed the budget plan President Trump needs to deliver on his promises to the American people." He expressed hope that the Senate would act swiftly to place the final bill on the President's desk by Independence Day.

Later that day, at 3:24 PM UTC, Rep. Bost shared a photo capturing Speaker Johnson after announcing the passage of what he referred to as “One Big, Beautiful Bill” in the House. He described this moment as "victory for the American people."

In another tweet from 6:00 PM UTC, Rep. Bost reported a tragic incident involving an attack outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington. According to his post, two Israeli diplomats, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, were killed by an assailant shouting “Free Palestine.” The victims were reportedly set to be engaged soon.

Mike Bost was born in Murphysboro, Illinois in 1960 and continues to reside there today. His career includes service in both state and federal government roles since 1984.
