Mike Bost has had a long-standing political career beginning with service on the Jackson County Board from 1984 to 1988 before moving to the Illinois House of Representatives from 1995 until he joined Congress in 2015. Born in Murphysboro, Illinois in 1960, Bost graduated from the University of Illinois' Certified Firefighter II Academy in 1993.
