IV) OLD BUSINESS:

a. Route 66 Festival (June 7)

i. Bike Parking- We are in need of a couple of volunteers to assist with staffing the bike parking.

ii. Potential Event - WeBike Authors- The WeBike authors are available all day and willing to participate in a speaking event. Cox suggests they spend 30-45 minutes speaking, and leaving room for questions, to total a one-hour event. A request was made to reserve the large meeting room in the library basement from 3 pm to 4 pm.

b. Bike and Hike

i. June 21st - Education and Safety- The event will run from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. The subcommittee will coordinate with Buncher to pick up the tent, tablecloth, helmets, easel, and map. Brazier will facilitate bike repair/tune-ups. Stacy will request MCT swag. Brazier will request oranges from the Rotary.

ii. Yard Signs- The yard signs did not get ordered in the previous fiscal year. Committee agrees to forgo the yard signs in favor of another potentially reusable marketing product like banners.

c) Criterium Community Ride- Newcom, Frost, and Stacy met with Mike Boline to begin planning. Current plans include a BPAC leader and caboose and either a set number of laps or minutes. Bike parking logistics are still to-be-determined. They will continue to meet monthly.

V) NEW BUSINESS:

a) Election of Officers for 2025-2026- Brazier made a motion to retain the current Officers; seconded by Stacy. Motion passes unanimously.

b) Portable Bike Racks for Events- The portable bike racks will not be utilized at this year's Bike and Hike events.

c) New Subgroups Updates

i. Education & Safety- Stacy shared that the current bike bus routes are going well. He is still looking for someone who might be interested in leading the Fall events.

ii. Policy & Infrastructure- Adair updated the group that the City approved hiring someone to study the traffic signals with the goal of determining possibilities for pedestrian signal changes. Subcommittee will also pursue proceeding with the Bike Rack Bonanza. Newcom recommends pursuing what endeavors could be achieved at specific intersections (for example, Buchanan and Vandalia). Cox recommends asking MCT how they evaluate intersections and determine needs and opportunities. Stacy recommends we all individually consider Buchanan and Vandalia and bring observations and concerns to the June meeting.

iii. Community Engagement

i. Drafts- Newcom shared that BPAC funds cannot be used for room reservations or appetizers. Sponsorship toward the event would be appropriate. Cox shared that they were working on coordinating an event with Run Well. Newcom encourages members to brainstorm ideas for locations. They will also meet with Campus to Community soon to further evaluate partnership opportunities.

ii. Schaefer will join the Community Engagement subcommittee.

VI) INFORMATIONAL

VII) ADJOURNMENT: With no further business to discuss, Adair made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Cox. Motion passed unanimously.
